Local Marine Honored With Photo On Delco Tribute Board

MEDIA, PA – Delaware County Council honored a local Marine by posting his photo on the Armed Services Tribute Board on March 14 with his family there to join the event.

County officials and joined U.S Marine Corps Lance Corporal Ronald Mahoney's sister, mother, and father March 14 to post the photos

"As we go about our daily lives, it’s easy to forget that brave men and women continue to risk their lives every day to keep us safe here at home," said Chairman John McBlain. "Delaware County is committed to remembering and to supporting our troops until they are safely home."

"One way we honor our troops is by posting their photo on the Armed Services Tribute Board and by recognizing their families," McBlain said. "Today we recognize USMC Lance Corporal Ronald Mahoney."

USMC Lance Corporal Ronald Mahoney grew up in Ridley Park and graduate of Ridley High School.

After attending Millersville University Lance Corporal joined the Marine Corps a year ago on March 13, 2017. Since then he has accomplished much. He has been awarded a Rifle Expert medal, a National Defense ribbon, and a Global War on Terrorism Service medal.

The Armed Services Tribute Board recognizes Delaware County’s courageous men and women who are actively serving in the military.

It offers an opportunity for residents and County employees to recognize members of the military and to write to them to show support.

Delaware County residents who have family members actively serving in the military are invited to submit a 4-inch-by-6-inch color photograph of the individual, along with the soldier’s name, town of residency and their official military address to The Public Relations Department, Room 226A, Delaware County Government Center, 201 W. Front St., Media, PA 19063.
