Local Students Earn Degrees from Elizabethtown, University of Scranton

A list of a few local students who recently graduated from college.

Below is a list of a few local students who recently graduated from college. 

 

Elizabethtown College

Elizabethtown College, a private co-ed college in southeastern Pennsylvania with 1,900 students studying liberal arts, creative arts, business, education and science and engineering, recognized the accomplishments of the Class of 2012.

The following local students received degrees from Elizabethtown College in May 2012:

Catherine Merk, of Media, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Occupation.

Daniel Patton, of Media, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration - Finance. 

 

Messiah College

Media resident Tara Benz was one of 642 students to graduate from Messiah College on May 12 during the college's annual commencement.

Benz graduated cum laude with a degree in psychology. 

 

University of the Sciences

Elizabeth Butkus, of Media, received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree from University of the Sciences during a bachelor's degree conferment ceremony on May 18. Butkus now continues on a path towards a doctor of physical therapy degree. 

 

University of Scranton

Nearly 900 University of Scranton students were conferred bachelor's degrees at its undergraduate commencement on May 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. A complete list of graduates and program of speakers can be seen at www.scranton.edu.

Jacqueline A. Gaval, of Media, received a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Scranton, majoring in occupational therapy in the Jesuit university's Panuska College of Professional Studies. 

 

Washington and Lee University

Gregory Atwood Hillyard Jr., of Media, received a BSC degree from Washington and Lee University on May 24. Commencement ceremonies for 401 Washington and Lee seniors were held on the university's historic front lawn.

Hillyard majored in business administration and graduated cum laude.
