Below is a list of a few local students who recently received accolades from their college or university.
Gettysburg College
Gettysburg College students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester's work are placed on the College's Dean's Honor List. The following local students have been named to the Dean's Honor List at Gettysburg College for outstanding academic achievement in Spring 2012:

James Madison University
The following James Madison University students have been named to the president's list for the spring 2012 semester:
Kenneth Narzikul, of Media, has earned dean's list honors. Narzikul is majoring in finance.
Stephanie Finley, of Media, has earned dean's list honors. Finley is majoring in hospitality management.
Students who receive president's list honors must carry a semester course load of at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.9 or above.
St. Lawrence University
Anna H. Kassab, of Media, has been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. Kassab is a graduate of Penncrest High School. To be eligible for the Dean's List at St. Lawrence University, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a perfect 4.0 scale) for the semester.
University of Scranton
The University of Scranton has announced it's Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2012 spring semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. More than 1,470 students were named to the 2012 spring semester Dean's List, including the following area residents.
Catherine Erbicella, of Media, a junior management major in Scranton's Kania School of Management
Jacqueline Gaval, of Media, a senior occupational therapy major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies
Mary Kathleen Kotchick, of Media, a freshman early and primary teacher education major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies
Molly Scheuerman, of Media, a junior early and primary teacher education major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies
TCNJ
Local students have earned the esteemed honor of placement on the Dean's List at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) for the spring 2012 semester:
Amanda Cheney, a Senior Psychology major and resident of Media
To achieve this honor, a student must carry 12 or more credits that semester and have a 3.5 grade point average or above.
University of Vermont
The following area students have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Vermont:
Samantha W. Lucas, of Media, a first-year student majoring in Environmental Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Allison Schrenzel, of Media, a first-year student majoring in Nutrition and Food Sciences in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
