Local Teachers Awarded Delco Excellence in Teaching
Local teachers were recently recognized by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union for the 2013 Delaware County Excellence in Teaching Award.
Local teachers were recently recognized by the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union in partnership with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit for the 2013 Delaware County Excellence in Teaching Award.
The award, created in 2008, recognizes outstanding and dedicated teachers in the county.
A committee selects teachers from nominations submitted by the public and the teachers are awarded $500 and the school is awarded $1,000.

One teacher is chosen from each public school district, one teacher from the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and one teacher from a non-public elementary, middle and high school.

Sue Williamson, Media Elementary School, Rose Tree Media School District
"This dynamo never stops working or thinking of others. She goes out of her way to make a connection with her students," according to Williamson's nominations.
Faith Kearney, of Springfield, The Walden School in Media
"Faith Kearney has lovingly and faithfully served the children of The Walden School for more than 25 years," Kathy Swierczek, public relations for Walden School, said.
