Chase Of Stolen Police Car Ends With Crash On I-95 In Delco: Police
Police chased a man who they said stole a police vehicle after being shot by officers onto I-95 in Delaware County, where he crashed.

CHESTER, PA — A man led police on a chase from Delaware into Delaware County early Thursday after he was shot by police then stole a police vehicle, authorities said.
According to police in New Castle County, Delaware, the incident began at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in Wilmington.
Officers were called to the area for a domestic-related incident and found the suspect, later identified as Tyrese Knuckles, 23, left the area.

When police eventually found him, a struggle ensued and during the struggle an eight-year veteran of the New Castle County Division of Police shot Knuckles. Police did not say how many times Knuckles was shot or where he was shot.
Police said Knuckles then stole the officer’s vehicle and drove off, leading police on a chase into Pennsylvania.

Eventually, Knuckles crashed the vehicle on Intestate 95 in the Chester, Delaware County area.
Knuckles ran off, but police apprehended him, police said.
He was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where he is in stable condition, for treatment for gunshot wounds and injuries sustained during the collisions.
Authorities also said a three-year veteran of the New Castle County Division of Police was admitted to Christiana Care Hospital in stable condition for injuries sustained during one of the initial collisions involving the stolen police car.
Police said Knuckles was wanted in Philadelphia for stalking.
Pennsylvania State Police are assisting the New Castle County Police with the investigation of the collision that occurred in Delaware County.
The officer who shot Knuckles was placed on administrative leave, per department policy, pending an internal investigation, as well as a joint investigation with the Delaware Department of Justice Division of Civil Rights and Public Trust.
