Media Arts Council Accepting Photography Contest Entries

The Media Arts Council announced the theme of the 6th Annual Media ICONS Photography Contest and Exhibit.

The Media Arts Council announced the theme of the 6th Annual Media ICONS Photography Contest and Exhibit—Media: Closely Seen.

Media ICONS is an annual photography contest that seeks to draw unique photographs from local and regional artists, amateur and professional, with a focus on the Borough of Media.

The focus of this year’s contest suggests seeing a smaller or more in-depth part of a larger whole. To illustrate this approach, photographers are asked to submit photographs of their Closely Seen image along with a second image of the subject in its broader context. Only the Closely Seen photograph will be judged. The second photo’s purpose is to illustrate the context of the first.

Photographs must be taken within Media Borough in order to qualify.

The photos will be judged by Instructor of Photography and Director of the Art Gallery at Delaware County Community College Richard Johnson. Johnson has won numerous awards and has work in many regional collections both public and private.
