Media Baseball Teams Wrap Up Exciting Summer
Teams in Media's Little League and Babe Ruth leagues proved themselves to be among the best teams in Pennsylvania and along the East Coast on the diamond this summer.

Nine and 10-Year-Old District Team Makes History
For the first time in Media Little League's 61 years, a Media team has won the Mid-Atlantic championship.
After and Section 8 championships, the nine and 10-year-old district team breezed through the state tournament. They captured the Pennsylvania crown in dominating fashion, .
Manager Tom Furman's group of 10 players then went on to represent their entire age group for Pennsylvania in the Eastern Regional Invitational Tournament in Cranston, R.I.
Despite matching up against the best teams from the Mid-Atlantic, Media met little resistance on their way to . They beat the champions from Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Maryland before taking down New Jersey for the second time, 7-4, in the final.
Their historic run came to end with a 10-5 loss to Massachusetts, the New England champs, in the Eastern Region championship. That run consisted of a 19-3 record and 230 runs scored, as opposed to just 92 runs allowed.
All-Stars Shine for Media
The Media 12-year-old all-star team suffered just one loss in five tournaments over the span of a little longer than a month.
Not surprisingly, the team won all five tournaments; these included Newtown Edgmont Little League, Marple Township Little League, Llanarch Hills Baseball, Drexel Hill Little League and Highland Park tournaments.
They wrapped up their summer play with an astonishing 22-1 record.
Media 15s Come Close to Babe Ruth World Series
For tween and teen baseball players, the dream end to every season includes a stop in their age group's World Series.
didn't get there, but they weren't too far away from the Babe Ruth World Series in Arkansas.
They went 4-0 and earned the No. 1 seed going into the elimination round of states. Then, they defeated Bensalem, the team that beat them in last year's state playoffs, in the semi-final.
In the championship game, Media overwhelmed Valley West with a 10-1 victory.
The Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament in South Colonie, N.Y., provided a much bigger hurdle for the District 1 and Pennsylvania state champs.
After losing two games in pool play, the team fought their way back to the semi-finals; the winner of the game would battle in the final for a trip to the World Series.
With two wins between Media and a ticket to Arkansas, New York's Niskayuna took down Media, 9-0, to end the dream run.
