Middletown Community Day is a Huge Success

Thousands came out to the family-friendly event on May 12.

Mother nature delivered the perfect day for at for the 18th annual event.

There was plenty to do for visitors of every age. The kids were treated to pony rides, a llama petting zoo, fire truck rides, face painting and arts and crafts. 

Live bands played all day long, including Cheers Big Band, Makin’ Music and the Rockdale Music Bands. The HCI Optimist Music Fest, hosted by , was a hit with the younger crowd.

The food court was also a hit with a variety of tastes for everyone, from hot dogs to Chinese, ribs to sweet treats too.

Kids had a chance to sit inside the cockpit of Stubby, the traveling Helicopter from the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester.

The , was also on hand meeting and greeting for the day. She's in the midst of a 300-mile walk from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. She and a friend are promoting healthy living, and she also says she's meeting some great people across the state in her travels.

"It's a cultural expedition," says Wisniewska. "It's a great personal challenge. I love to meet the people and see the hidden treasures behind all these doors. Route 30 is full of rich Americana."

The event was organized by Middletown’s Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Middletown Township Business and Professional Association.
