Mother of Providence Receives $10k Grant for School Security
Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School in Wallingford works with The Nether Providence Chief of Police to Enhance School Security

Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School (MPRCS) has received $10,000 in grant funding from the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia. A foundation that works to impact the community through Charitable Funds, Grants, Community Impact Awards, partnerships and special initiatives. This summer, Principal Therese Waters, Nether Providence Chief of Police, David Splain, and members of the Facilities/Safety Committee of the MPRCS Board of Limited Jurisdiction met to discuss opportunities to enhance safety and security efforts to ensure the safety of all of the students and staff of Mother of Providence.
Mother of Providence is a regional Catholic school that serves the Wallingford, Media, Swarthmore and surrounding areas. It is the combined regional school for Nativity BVM and St. John Chrysostom Parishes. Their mission is to challenge students’ minds, nurture their hearts, and prepare them to be faith-filled members of our diverse local and global communities. Mother of Providence serves children in a full or half day Pre-K3 & Pre-K4, and full day Kindergarten through 8th grade. With small classes, dedicated and experienced teachers the students develop spiritually, intellectually and socially.
The grant will be used to install new security cameras, doors, and an access control system. School administrators and the Facilities/Safety Committee of the MPRCS Board of Limited Jurisdiction will continue to work toward increasing school security. We are grateful to the Nether Providence Police Department for their partnership and to the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia for their generous support of Mother of Providence.
