No Tax Hike In Proposed Delaware County Budget
Should the budget be approved in its current state, it would make for six straight years of no tax increases on the county level.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Residents in Delaware County have reason to be excited about the proposed 2020 budget as it does not contain a tax increase.
The county's proposed 2020 budget was presented on Nov. 4.
It does not include a tax increase for 2020 and should it be adopted Delco will have gone six straight years in a row without a tax increase.

It should be noted that county taxes were decreased in the 2019 budget by 2.5 percent.
The total proposed General Fund expenditures are $358,133,000 for 2020.

"We commend Executive Director Marianne Grace, Budget Director Jim Hayes, President Judge Kevin Kelly and all of our department heads and employees," said Delaware County Council Chairman John McBlain. "It is their diligent work throughout the year that allows Council to be able to consider yet another no tax increase budget for our residents and taxpayers."
The proposed 2020 budget will be available for public inspection at the Office of the County Clerk located on the second floor of the Government Center, 201 W. Front St. in Media, and will be posted on the county’s website here.
The council will submit its reports on or before Nov. 18.
A budget hearing will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec 4 in the County Council Meeting Room.
A second reading and final adoption of the 2020 budget will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 11 during the regularly scheduled county council meeting.
