HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and their Royal Highnesses Princesses Lalla Salma, Lalla Meryem, Lalla Asmae and Lalla Hasnae, chaired, on Monday in the Mechouar Square at the Rabat Royal palace, the official welcoming ceremony for HM King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.
At the entrance of the Mechouar Said, a troop of cavalry of the Royal Guard escorted the royal procession from Bab Assoufara to the Mechouar Square at the Royal Palace.
The troop, which escorts HM the King's procession when the Sovereign welcomes illustrious guests, has given a distinguished character to this official ceremony dedicated to Spain's Sovereigns in the Kingdom's capital, to reflect the secular ties between Morocco and Spain.

Upon the procession's arrival at the Mechouar Square, HM the King, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and his illustrious guests headed for the VIP stand to salute the flags while the national anthems of both countries were playing. A 21-gun cannon salute was fired to welcome HM King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.
Then, HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and His illustrious guests surveyed a detachment of the Royal Guard, which made the honors, before HM King Felipe VI and Queen Leitizia of Spain were greeted by a number of Moroccan civil and military figures, and HM the King was greeted by the members of the official Spanish delegation.
