O'Hara Lockdown Lifted After Distraught Former Employee Found in Chesco Home

Students were locked in their classrooms as police searched the school for a distraught former employee who went missing, according to reports.

SPRINGFIELD–Students were locked in their classrooms at as police searched the school for a former employee who went missing, the Delaware County Daily Times and Philly.com reports.

According to the report, Pennsylvania State Police located the man at his home in Pennsbury Township, Chester County.

, , , , and police departments on scene and conducted a thorough search of the premises, the Times' report states.

On Friday afternoon, Chief Tom Murray released a statement regarding the morning's lockdown.

"School officials knew the subject as a former teacher who left under less than favorable circumstances several years ago and reported that the subject was not welcome in the school," stated Murray in a press release.

The former teacher is identified as Walter Lion, a 61-year-old white male who resides in Chester County, according to the release.

According to the release, investigators were able to gather the last known address of Lion and Pennsylvania State Police were asked to check the residence to see if he was there. While state police were at the residence the former teacher had arrived, and was briefly detained and confirmed as the man involved in the incident.

Police detectives are currently working with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and charges are pending for defiant trespass and related offenses.
