Penncrest Wrestler Takes Central League with 105 Career Wins

A Penncrest senior wrestler was recently honored at the Rose Tree Media Board of School Directors meeting.
Joe Gartland earned a silver medal—the highest ever for a Penncrest wrestler—in the 170-pound weight class at the State Championship in Hershey, according to Director of Athletics Chip Olinger.
Gartland, who was named the Delaware County Daily Times Wrestler of the Year, earned his 100th career win in the District Championship match and finished his high school wrestling career second in career wins with 105, according to Olinger.

In the post season, Gartland won the Central League Tournament, District Tournament and finished second in the Regional Tournament losing 2-1, according to Olinger.
Coaches are Greg Jacobs, Wil Harmon, Pat Carney and Bill Mowbray.
