Phyllis Chapell Brings Her Universal Musical Stylings to CAC's Friday Night Live Concert Series
Fall Series Wraps with an Evening of World Jazz with Multilingual Vocalist

The fall Friday Night Live concert series at Community Arts Center, 414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA, culminates with an evening of world jazz with multilingual vocalist Phyllis Chapell and visual art by Jewel Mondros and Mary Fatimah Weening in the Duke Gallery on November 20th at 7:00 p.m. Friday Night Live merges music and art for an auditory and visual experience that is enjoyable as well as creative and stimulating. Light refreshments are served and attendees are also welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages. Ages 17 and over (must be 21 to bring or consume alcohol). Admission is $15 per person or $10 for Community Arts Center members.
Phyllis Chapell has spent her life developing a universal musical style, singing “world songs.” Her repertoire includes songs in 13 languages from Brazil, Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as well as American folk, jazz and popular music. She also has a repertoire of award-winning original songs and is promoting her new CD Naked World, just released in October.
Visual artists Jewel Mondros of Swarthmore and Mary Fatimah Weening of Bala Cynwyd will be creating art live during the musical performance. Attendees have the opportunity to bid on the created work through a silent auction throughout the evening. Bidding closes shortly before the end of the event.
