Robbers Hit Armored Truck In Delaware County: Authorities

The robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon in Chester, with the suspects using long guns and making off with a large amount of cash.

CHESTER, PA — An armored truck was robbed Tuesday afternoon in Delaware County, and authorities are asking for help locating the suspects.

The incident occurred at about 12:16 p.m. at the AutoZone located at Ninth Street and Avenue of the States in Chester City.

According to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office, the suspects were armed with long guns and assaulted the driver of a Brinks armored truck.

They took his weapon and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The DA's office said they drove off in a Nissan Pathfinder with a laminated paper Pennsylvania tag reading LLN-2328. That same vehicle had black trim around the license plate, black rims, and a roof rack.

Authorities said that vehicle frequents Darby Township (Hook/Calcon Hook) and Chester City (410 9th St.).
