Rose Tree Place Recognized for Pet Ambassador
Watermark Retirement Communities Celebrates Rose Tree Place's Newest Addition: Kacey the Jack Russell Terrier

MEDIA, Pa. –Pet companions are capable of contributing to human wellness at every age, and for this reason, pets are not only welcome at Watermark Retirement Communities, they are encouraged. Administrators estimate that 20 percent of Watermark residents share their lives with a beloved dog or cat in their homes. A majority of Watermark communities also foster house pets or welcome visiting therapy pets, too.
To shine a light on the vital role pets play in the lives of humans, every April, at its Annual Summit and Awards Banquet in Tucson, Ariz., Watermark sets aside a portion of its program to acknowledge Watermark Pet Ambassadors like Kacey. Weighing in at just 2 pounds, Kacey the Jack Russell Terrier is the latest addition to the family at Rose Tree Place, a Watermark community in Media.
“Our residents and associates love Kacey,” said Rose Tree Place Community Life Director Karen Holahan. “She spends her days at the community spreading much joy and love to everyone she meets. When she is tuckered out, she takes naps in her playpen with blankets and toys that residents have given her.”

“Kacey is a worthy Pet Ambassador because she truly lights up the lives of our residents on a daily basis,” said Rose Tree Place Executive Director Cindy Evans.
“Acknowledging Watermark’s Pet Ambassadors annually is one of my favorite traditions,” said President and CEO David Barnes. “After all, pets play a vital role in helping people thrive, which is what we’re all about.”

Rose Tree Place received its Pet Ambassador Award for Kacey on April 25, just days prior to National Therapy Animal Day on April 30. This is an annual day of recognition for all therapy animals who bring comfort and/or healing to human companions.
