Dems Retain Council, DA's Office Control In Delco: Unofficial Results

Democrats have held onto control of the Delaware County Council and District Attorney's Office, according to unofficial election results.

UPDATED AT 11 P.M.


DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Democratic control of Delaware County will continue, as Democrats have secured victories in the county council and district attorney races, according to unofficial results.

As of 11 p.m., unofficial results show District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer has 63,850 votes, while Republican challenger Beth Stefanide Miscichowski has 44,651.

And, County Council Members Monica Taylor, Elaine Paul Schaefer, Christine A. Reuther have secured victories over Republican challengers Joy Schwartz, Jeffrey O. Jones, and William Dennon.

As of 11 p.m., all 428 Delaware County voting precincts have reported results.

Results will be considered unofficial until all votes, including those cast via mail and in ballot drop boxes, have been counted.

With an increase in voting by mail, official results likely won't be available for a few days.

Delaware County Council (vote for three)

  • Monica Taylor (D) — 61,931
  • Elaine Paul Schaefer (D) — 59,158
  • Christine A. Reuther (D) — 58,392
  • Joy Schwartz (R) — 44,772
  • Jeffrey O. Jones (R) — 43,275
  • William Dennon (R) — 42,714

Delaware County District Attorney

  • Jack Stollsteimer (D) — 63,850
  • Beth Stefanide Miscichowski (R) — 44,651

Judge of the Court of Common Pleas (vote for one)

  • Rachel Ezzell Berry (D) — 62,950
  • Dawn Getty Sutphin (R) — 45,657
