State Police Blotter: Man Arrested in Connection With Public Drunkenness

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.
Retail Theft – Claire’s at the Granite Run Mall at 6:38 p.m. on Feb 21. According to State Police, two juvenile females, ages 13 and 14, entered Claire’s at the Granite Run Mall and took merchandise from the store. Both juveniles were cited and released to their parents.
Simple Assault – Delaware County Alternative School at 12:20 p.m. on Feb. 21. According to State Police, one juvenile struck another juvenile on or about the head and face causing minor injuries. The accused was taken into custody. Charges will be filed in Juvenile Court.

Burglary – West Baltimore Pike, Middletown Township at 11 p.m. on Feb. 20. According to State Police, a 46-year-old man entered a 55-year-old man's residence without permission, and started an altercation. During the incident, the 55-year-old man suffered injuries to his head and hanging blinds in the residence were also ruined. The 46-year-old man was arrested and charges were filed in District Court 32-2-49.
Criminal Mischief – South Pennell Road sometime between 9 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 9:30 a.m. Feb 21. According to State Police, unknown persons applied feces to the windows and doors of a business.

DUI – Route 352 at Gradyville Road at about 2:53 a.m. on Feb. 19. According to State Police, a 22-year-old Middletown man was observed leaving the scene of an unreported traffic crash. He allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested.
Harassment – Glen Riddle Road at 3:50 p.m. on Feb. 18. Following an investigation, a 41-year-old Media man was charged with harassment after placing unwanted phone calls to a 46-year old Media woman, reported the State Police.
Retail Theft – Claire’s Boutique Department Store at about 4:47 p.m. on Feb 17. A 16-year-old female from Boothwyn reportedly removed approximately $16.70 of merchandise from the retailer, according to State Police.
Retail Theft – Sears Department Store at Granite Run Mall at about 2:51 p.m. on Feb. 17. A 47-year-old Wilmington, Del. man allegedly took two bed sets with a combined retail value of $399.98, according to State Police.
Public Drunkenness – Edgemont Township at 9:55 p.m. on Feb 14. According to State Police, a 74-year-old man from Newtown Square fell from a barstool at a local restaurant, injuring his head. According to the incident report, when the EMS arrived to treat the man he was extremely intoxicated and combative. Upon the responding officer’s arrival the man was refusing treatment and yelling at EMTs. According to the EMTs, the man had tried hitting them several times. The State Police reported that the man refused treatment, was removed from the ambulance and asked to call for a ride, but refused. He was then transported to the Pennsylvania State Police Media Barracks where he was issued a citation and released to a family member.
Burglary – Old Forge Road at 7 a.m. on Feb 14. According to State Police, it was found that unknown persons had entered the residence through a front door, located in the rear of the building. Once inside, the persons allegedly removed personal items from a storage garage.
Criminal Mischief – Brandywine Drive sometime between 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 and 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 11. According to State Police, unknown persons uprooted a mailbox.
