State Police Blotter: Man Found Drunk, Passed Out Laying in Hospital Parking Lot

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Two-Vehicle Crash—Country Village Way at about 10:26 a.m. on May 14. A Toyota Highlander, driven by a 22-year-old Media woman, struck a Dodge Avenger that was parked on the roadway, according to State Police. The impact knocked the Avenger about 25 feet down the road and both vehicles were disabled, according to State Police. No one was injured. The driver of the Highlander was cited with a traffic violation for careless driving, according to State Police.

One-Vehicle Crash—West Chester Pike near Crum Creek Road at about 11 p.m. on May 12. A deer ran into the roadway and was struck by a Nissan Sentra driven by a 29-year-old West Chester woman, according to State Police. The driver was not injured.

One-Vehicle Crash—Yearsley Mill Road near Old Forge Road at about 3:48 p.m. on May 11. A 72-year-old Media man driving a Lincoln Town Car attempted to negotiate a left curve, traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a tree, according to State Police. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to Crozer Hospital via Riddle EMS, according to State Police. The Town Car sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Theft— at about 10:30 p.m. on May 10. A green Macbook Pro computer was stolen from the facility, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— on May 9. A 62-year-old Chester man stole a CD player valued at $39.99 from and then went to where he stole a CD case and a watch, valued at $3.99 and $29.99, respectively, according to State Police. Total value of the stolen items was $73.97.

Forgery— at about 1:38 p.m. on May 8. A 46-year-old Wallingford woman attempted to pass through a fake prescription slip to retrieve medication, according to State Police.

Retail Theft— at Granite Run Mall on May 6. Unknown persons entered the store and stole 50 perfume bottles valued at about $2,000, according to State Police

DUI—Route 1 and 352 at about 12:42 a.m. on May 5. During a traffic stop a car was found stopped in the travel lane and the driver, an Aston woman, was found unconscious inside the vehicle, according to State Police. A strong odor of alcohol was detected inside and the driver was arrested, according to State Police. 

Public Drunkenness— parking lot at about 1 a.m. on May 4. A 48-year-old Media man was found by hospital security high intoxicated, passed out and lying on the grass in the parking lot, according to State Police. A non-traffic citation was filed in District Court 32-2-48 for public drunkenness.

Theft by Unlawful Taking—Woodland Court in Edgmont Township between April 30 and May 5. A jewelry box was stolen from a residence but the victim was unsure what was inside and what it was valued at as the jewelry box belonged to his late wife, according to State Police.
