State Police Blotter: Woman Lured, Jumped by 3 Females

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Simple Assault/Harassment—WSFS Bank parking lot in Edgmont Township at approximately 2 a.m. on Oct. 1. A 19-year-old female arrived at the location expecting to meet her friends when three known females of the victim jumped out of the bushes and punched and kicked the victim, State Police said. A short struggle ensued and the victim was eventually able to make it back to her vehicle and flee the scene, State Police said. The incident remains under investigation.

Retail Theft—Linvilla Orchards at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Oct. 1. A 27-year-old Claymont, Del. man left the market without paying for one pie and two jars of peaches, State Police said. The total value of the items was $18.94, State Police said. The man was cited and released.

Theft by Unlawful Taking—Valley Road in Edgmont Township between Sept. 27 and 29. A Newtown Square man reported a 10-carat gold chain was possibly stolen from his night stand, State Police said. The chain had a pendant attached that had a Virgin Mary with two hearts and the initials H&K engraved on it, State Police said. The approximate value of the chain was $1,000, State Police said.

Burglary—Hidden Hallow Swim Club between Sept. 5 and 28. Unknown persons gained entry to the swim club by cutting a lock on a gate, State Police said. Once inside the persons then removed seven copper pipes from the sink, urinals, toilets and showers of the men's and women's restrooms, State Police said.

Criminal Mischief—Valley and Cold Spring Roads between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Oct. 2-3. Three Edgemont Township residents told State Police unknown people destroyed personal property overnight. One person said her mailbox was kicked over. It was found at a man and woman's residence, where their two car windows were also smashed in, State Police said.

Theft, Bad Checks—Brandywine Penn State Bookstore 2:06 p.m., Oct. 3. State Police said a Philadelphia man has allegedly passed off bad checks in the amount of $698.98 to purchase merchandise from the book store in Middletown Township. An employee called police after realizing the checks were fraudulent.

Simple Assault—Route 1 South at Valley Road at 9:23 p.m., Oct. 3. A male and female reported that two separate drivers' side windows were shattered. They told police the propulsion of missiles caused it. Though it seemed the projectiles originated from hills near the Franklin Mint Property, searches yielded no results, State Police said.
