State Police Blotter: Woman Uses Child's Stroller in Attempted Retail Theft

Here is a list of recent incidents in Middletown and Edgmont townships reported by the . Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call police at 484-840-1000. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.
Burglary—N. Middletown Road on Feb. 12. Unknown persons broke open a rear door to the residence and entered the home, according to State Police. Once inside they removed a Lenovo laptop computer and a Garmin GPS device, according to State Police. The persons then unlocked a rear door and left the house. The total value of the stolen items is about $750 and the total damage to the residence is about $300, according to State Police.
DUI—Route 352 at Knowltown Road at about 2:22 a.m. on Feb. 12. A Clifton Heights woman was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to State Police.

DUI—Route 352 at Harvard Drive at about 3:51 a.m. on Feb. 12. A 20-year-old Glen Mills man was stopped for multiple traffic violations and determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, according to State Police. Charges will be filed in District Court 32-2-48.
Retail Theft— at at about 5:49 p.m. on Feb. 10. An 18-year-old Havertown woman was observed by store security concealing merchandise within her three-month-old child's stroller, according to State Police. The woman was detained by security before she attempted to leave the store without paying for the items, according to State Police. An investigation led to the woman's arrest in connection with retail theft, according to State Police. The woman was also found to be in possession of three different types of suspected narcotics, according to State Police. Charges are to be filed in District Court 32-2-48.

DUI Crash—Route 452 and Parkmount Road at about 5:01 p.m. on Feb. 8. A 44-year-old Chester man, driving a black Dodge Dakota, did not stop at a red light while traveling north on Rt. 452 through an intersection, and crashed into a red Dodge Caravan while going through the intersection, according to State Police. Police determined the man was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested in connection with DUI and released to a family member, according to State Police. No one was injuried in the crash but both vehicles sustained heavy damage, according to State Police.
