Superhero 5k Helping Delco, Chesco Youth Advocacy Group

Dress up as your favorite superhero for the fundraising run. We're sure The Flash will make an appearance.

MEDIA, PA – The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Delaware and Chester Counties has been helping children in the greater Philadelphia area since the early 1990s. Now, for the second year in a row, you can help CASA help those kids by participating in the Second Annual Superhero 5K Run and Walk this Sunday in Media.

The event will be held at 9 a.m. at Pavilion 17 in Ridley Creek State Park, 1023 Sycamore Mills Road, Media. Race day registration begins at 8 a.m.

Runners and walkers can still register for $40, with kids ages 7 through 17 costing just $20. Kids 6 years old an under can participate for free.

FOX29 News Reporter Chris O’Connell will kick-off the race along with Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan, who will judge the costume contest with O’Connell and two CASA kids.

"With the success of last year’s race, we were eager to begin plans for this year’s," Anne Shenberger, CASA Youth Advocates Executive Director, said in a statement. "This year’s race will be a wonderful opportunity to not only get in shape, but do good in the community, too."
