Media Farmer's Market Finishes Season

Vendors of local foods will convene today from 3 to 7 p.m. one last time this year, for the Media Farmer's Market.

The final installment of the Media Farmer's Market will run today from 3 to 7 p.m. as the season comes to an end.

First, the asparagus came and went from the market (its season ended in late spring). Then, the tomatoes, berries, and peaches had their hayday. Then arrived the melons, which were replaced by the gourds. And finally, out came the apples and root vegetables. The local vendors are calling it a year, and so too is the Media Farmer's Market.

Today, the market will be providing shoppers with free bowls of soup, provided by Mushroom Cafe, and hot cider, provided by Fruitwood Farm, as thanks for their support this year, said market manager Brendan MacCurtin.
