Visit of Mohammed VI, King of Morocco to Tunis is followed closely by African leaders

HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid arrived, on Friday in Tunis, for an official visit at the invitation of President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki.

At the Tunis-Carthage airport, HM the King was greeted by President Marzouki.

Afterwards, HM the King and the Tunisian president headed for the VIP stand to salute the flags while the national anthems of both countries were playing. A 21-gun salute was fired to welcome the sovereign.

HM the King was greeted by the members of the Tunisian government, advisors of President Marzouki, members of the Arab and African diplomatic corps accredited to Tunis, the mufti (Islamic scholar) of the republic, Morocco's ambassador in Tunis Mohamed Faraj Doukkali, members of the Moroccan diplomatic mission, as well as representatives of the Moroccan community in Tunisia and other figures. Afterwards, the Tunisian president was greeted by the official delegation accompanying HM the King.

After a short break at the airport's presidential lounge, HM the King waved his hand in greeting of the Moroccan community which came to welcome the sovereign.

HM the King is accompanied during this visit by an important delegation including mainly HM the King's advisors Taib Fassi Fihri, Fouad Ali El Himma, Yassir Znagui and Abdeltif Menouni.

The delegation includes also Interior minister Mohamed Hassad, Foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar, minister of Endowments and Islamic affairs Ahmed Toufiq, Economy minister Mohamed Boussaid, minister of national education and vocational training Rachid Belmokhtar, minister of higher education, scientific research and executives' training Lahcen Daoudi, equipment, transportation and logistics minister Aziz Rebbah, industry, trade, investment and digital economy minister Moulay Hafid Elalamy, health minister El Houceine El Ouardi, minister of tourism Lahcen Haddad, minister delegate to the head of government, in charge of civil service and administration modernization Mohamed Moubdie, minister delegate to the minister of energy, mining, water and environment, in charge of the environment Hakima El Haite.

HM the King is accompanied is also accompanied by a delegation of officials and economic operators representing the public and private sectors, as well as other civil and military figures.
