To say it's been a long winter is an understatement. Between the snow and extreme cold days cabin fever this year has hit us all hard. Now that the days are getting darker later and the sun is finally beginning to make its way through the clouds, I know I'm ready to celebrate spring.
For me, spring is a busy time of year. Many homeowners are looking to put their homes on the market and buyers are now ready to take advantage of the better weather and get out shopping for their next home. If you're thinking of putting your home on the market the first thing you should do is call me. I can give you a free comparative market analysis to give you an idea of what your home will sell for. The next thing any potential seller should think about this time of year is spring cleaning. If you're putting your home up for sale you want to put your best foot forward and have it fresh and clean to entice buyers. Not looking to move just yet? We can all benefit from some spring cleaning to maintain our homes.
Around The House:
- Tour house exterior and grounds. Make a list of any needed seasonal maintenance.
- Inspect, clean and repair outdoor furniture.
- Inspect the roof for leaks, missing or broken shingles or tiles.
- Check all trim and woodwork. Scrape, prime, and paint peeling spots.
- Start landscaping!
- Move furniture and vacuum beneath it.
- Wash windows inside and out and clean the drapes and blinds.
- Arrange for a spring inspection of cooling systems.
- Sort through the family's wardrobe, books, toys, etc. Make a pile of items from all seasons that can be discarded or donated or...
- Hold a garage sale! Declutter your house and garage to turn trash into cash.
