• Mercersburg council tables Flock camera location decision after public pushback (fox43.com) — Mercersburg Borough Council has delayed choosing locations for proposed Flock license-plate cameras after residents again urged officials to slow down and reconsider the technology. The move means no cameras have been approved yet, even as Franklin County law enforcement defends their use elsewhere. Residents are pressing for clearer safeguards and a more deliberate public discussion before any final decision.
• Extremely dirty, encrusted grease: What Franklin County restaurant inspectors found (pennlive.com) — Franklin County health inspectors recently cited numerous restaurants for dirty equipment, unsafe food temperatures, and other violations, while many others passed with only minor issues or none at all. For Mercersburg residents, the Mercersburg Lions Club on South Park Street was inspected on August 11 and found in compliance. The full list shows how local kitchens are measuring up on safety.
