Comcast Set For First-Round WPIAL Playoff Action

Playoff Schedule Kicks Off with Hampton-Montour in Class AAA Matchup

The Xfinity High School Sports Game of the Week for the opening round of the 2015 WPIAL Football Playoffs will feature Hampton traveling to face Montour in a Class AAA game.

The game will be available free to all Comcast Digital Starter and above subscribers beginning Saturday, Nov. 7 by choosing the Get Local, Sports and Football folders on their Xfinity On Demand menu. It is available in both Standard Definition and High Definition.

The Xfinity High School Sports Game of Week will be called by the talented team of Chris Shovlin and Ellis Cannon, along with sideline reports from Meg Bulger and Jeff Culhane.

Eighth-seeded Montour (6-3 overall) finished third in the Parkway Conference with a 6-2 mark and won three of its last four games. Ninth-seeded Hampton (6-3 overall) finished in fourth place with a 5-3 mark in the Greater Allegheny Conference after losing three of its final four games.

The game was selected after fans following the Xfinity High School Sports Twitter handle @HSFootballPGH gave Hampton-Montour the most retweets over the past two days.

This compelling first-round game is part of the 13th consecutive season of local high school football coverage for Comcast. Comcast’s high school sports programming has been nominated multiple times for regional Emmy Awards.
