Port Authority new fares become effective on Jan. 2, 2011, on all bus, T and Monongahela Incline service.
The Zone 1 base fare will increase to $2.25 from $2.00; Zone 2 fare will increase to $3.25 from $2.75; and transfers will increase to $1.00 from 75 cents, but remain valid for three hours. The cost of weekly, monthly, annual and Go Pass passes, along with ten-trip ticket books, also will increase on January 2.
