
A father is accused of leaving his 7-year-old daughter in a Moon hotel room to goΒ shopping at Walmart in nearby North Fayette.
Moon policeΒ have charged Joshua Shore, 29, of Wamego, KS with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police responded to the Courtyard Marriot, 450 Cherrington Parkway, around 2:50 a.m. Saturday, June 22 after receiving a report of a child left alone.
The hotel's night auditor told police theΒ girl wandered into the common area near the front desk and said she couldnβt find her father.
The night auditor and the house attendant spoke to the girl and figured out that her mother was also an employee of the hotel, where the girl was staying as a guest with her father.
The hotel employees contacted police and the girlβs mother, who in turn contacted Shore via cell phone. Police said Shore told the mother he was at Walmart, which is about 4.4 miles away from the hotel, police said.

The girlβs mother told police she dropped her daughter off with Shore about 6 p.m. and the girl was to accompany her father on an airplane to Kansas at 10 a.m. that morning.
Police returned the girl to her mother and searched Shoreβs room. Officers later found him walking with several Walmart shopping bags along Business Route 376 in Moon, off the westbound travel lanes.

Police arrested Shore and brought him back to the police station. Police said Shore admitted he used βbad judgment.βΒ
He remains inΒ Allegheny County Jail unable to postΒ $5,000 bond. A hearing is scheduled for July 2.Β
