Flight Diverted To Pittsburgh After Bomb Threat Discovered

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA — An American Airlines flight from Newark to Dallas was diverted to Pittsburgh Wednesday after a bomb threat was discovered in an airplane restroom.

A flight attendant noticed faint pink writing in the restroom stating a bomb was on board and notified the pilot. The flight was then diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport and met by FBI agents, local police officers and K-9s.

An FBI spokesman told WPXI-TV that a thorough sweep of the plane occurred and no active threat on the plane was discovered. The flight resumed and landed safely in Dallas.

It is unclear when the threat in the restroom was written.
