Since his debut novel “Ghosts of San Francisco” was released in March 2014, Pittsburgh author MORD MCGHEE has entered the international world of science fiction by accident.

McGhee has been called a curious and unique mixture of George Orwell, Philip K. Dick, Stephen King... and Guns and Roses, Metallica, and Judas Priest. (WHAT?)

It’s true. Mord, a retired musician (ASCAP,) has transitioned into a new media where his loud, raucous explosion of stories have migrated from ear to mind; lighters held high, crowd chanting for encore.

His debut is a character driven tale that proposes the ghosts we know today as supernatural frights will become a more horrifying reality in the future... through technology. He is a native of Pittsburgh and has lived in communities including Moon, Brentwood, Bethel Park, Upper Saint Clair, Baldwin, Castle Shannon, and more.

Mord says, “I am honored. I had no expectations when I wrote Ghosts. I don’t do it as a career, I just love good stories. When the book was nominated, I was shocked. I just write ‘dumb books’ and people seem to dig them.” He adds, “I’m overwhelmed.“

Mord McGhee’s second novel is about to be released late 2014/early 2015 and it has been reported to be a frightening new angle on a classic murder mystery. It’s called “Murder Red Ink” and is based upon the true events of the Jack The Ripper murders in the 1880/90s, London. Of course, the angle is Mord’s signature character blast of heavy metal science fiction.
