Moon Supervisors Continue RMU Zoning Hearing for Holiday Inn Property

Moon Township Supervisors voted last nightΒ toΒ continue two public hearings related to the former Holiday Inn hotel property.

Supervisors continued theΒ until 7 p.m. Monday, July 22 after emerging fromΒ a three-hour executive session.Β 

Robert Morris University officialsΒ presented supervisors withΒ itsΒ plans to use the hotel property for a dormitory, being referred to as Yorktown Hall.

The property is located in a commercial district, soΒ Robert Morris is seekingΒ to establish the hotel property at 8256 University BoulevardΒ as a mixed-use educational overlay district. The university also seeks conditional useΒ approvalΒ to have theΒ dormitory and mixed use educational development as aΒ permissibleΒ use.

Supervisors fieldedΒ comments from residents, engineers and public safety officials as part of testimonyΒ during the public hearing.Β
