Moon Supervisors Recognize Eagle Scouts with Proclamation

The Moon Township Supervisors recently recognized two students who reached the highest honor that is bestowed upon a Boy Scout.

The board presented Dalton Pritt and Joseph Meyer Leibowitz with a proclamation Thursday for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, an honor earned by only five percent of all Boy Scouts.

Pritt of Boy Scout Troop 310 earned 29 total merit badges and is an Ordeal Member of the Order of the Arrow. Pritt held the leadership positions of assistant senior patrol leader and served three times as patrol leader.

His Eagle Scout Service Project involved the design and landscape architecture of the property surrounding the Boggs School in Moon Township. He worked with the Moon Parks and Recreation Department to design and landscape the area.

Leibowitz of Boy Scout Troop 310 earned 30 total merit badges and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. Leibowitz held the leadership positions of librarian, scribe, patrol leader, troop guide, and senior patrol leader.

He assisted with the creation of and planning for maintaining a food pantry at Living Way Christian Fellowship Church in Homewood for his Eagle Scout service project. 

Scouts must earn 21 merit badges, serve their troop in a variety of leadership roles, and complete a major community service project to earn this rank.
