Moon Teen Earns First Place in Entrepreneuring Youth Competition

A Moon Township resident was the overall winner in a youth entrepreneur contest.

Meghan Boboige,  Founder of Meg’s Photo Booth, was a participant in the Entrepreneuring Youth 2013 George W. Tippins Regional Business Plan Competition in Pittsburgh, named after one of Pittsburgh's most successful businessmen.

After several rounds of the competitors pitching business ideas to a variety of volunteer judges, the judges narrowed down 28 participants to the top three finalists in two divisions: the Up-Start and the Start-Up.

Meghan and other finalists presented their business plans to the judges on June 6 in the final round at the Rivers Club. 

Meghan, who is completing 11th grade, was named the first place finalist in the Start Up division, for young owners who have actually started their enterprise and have a year or more of direct experience with consumer sales, revenue generation and management.

She will be heading to New York City in the fall to compete on the national level.

Meg’s Photo Booth sells Meghan’s photographs printed in high resolution on canvas.  Meghan is part of Entrepreneuring Youth’s program in Beaver County delivered through a partnership with the Franklin Center in Aliquippa and the Community College of Beaver County. 

Entrepreneuring Youth is a four-year-old nonprofit that promotes "real-life experience of business creation" and runs the contest.
