If you're looking to try a good soda,Β Village Candy is planningΒ a soda-tasting this timeΒ featuring cream sodas.
The tasting is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.Β Saturday, July 27, in the old-time candy shop atΒ 344 Beaver St.,Β Sewickley. TheΒ event is free and open to the public, but registration is required byΒ emailing: cream@villagecandy.com.
According to Doug Alpern, owner of Village Candy, aΒ good cream soda should remind you of "the very best vanilla ice creamΒ float."
Alpern says new vintages will be unleashed for this tasting for the very firstΒ time in Pittsburgh and possibly in Pennsylvania, including Jersey Cream and Bedfordβs Cream from Port Angeles, WA.
Tasters will have a chance toΒ explore all of theΒ creamyΒ differences.Β Β
This is Village Candy's fourthΒ "cream 'o the crop" event.
Village Candy is an old-time,Β new-fangled retail shop specializing in aΒ wide selection of retro bulk and novelty candy, artisan chocolates, glass bottled pop and candy-themed gifts.
