Robert Morris University Summer Colonial Theatre Presents Once Upon a Mattress

RMU Summer Colonial Theatre is proud to present Once Upon a Mattress music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer, directed by Barbara Burgess-Lefebvre.

You think you know the story of the Princess and the Pea well think again. Once Upon a Mattress tells the story in a new and vibrant way with some quirky and interesting characters. This show gives us the same basic outline of the Princess and the Pea with a few twists that you wouldn’t expect. In this account the Queen as has no intention of letting her sweet innocent boy get married so she comes up with countless tests to thwart the efforts of every princess. Just when she thinks there are none left; Princess Winifred arrives to show her stuff. But the Queen will not have it. Queen Aggravain does all she can to make sure no one in the kingdom including her son can marry.
