Rolls-Royce Buys Moon Nuclear Company

The Rolls-Royce Group has acquired the Moon Township-based firm which specializes in nuclear engineering support services. 

The London-based company, which is unrelated to the luxury car maker, acquired PKMJ for an undisclosed sum on Tuesday, according to the Wall Street Journal. 

Lawrie Haynes, president of the Rolls-Royce nuclear division said in a statement: 

"Our investment in PKMJ represents another significant step toward growing our global civil nuclear business and providing customers with a suite of services to deliver safe and efficient life-cycle operations." 

PKMJ is now located at 410 Rouser Road in Moon. The company employs 200 and was founded in 1982, according to its website.  

Paul Tobin, president of PKMJ, said in a company statement he is "delighted" by the acquisition.

"We are delighted with today's acquisition which provides us with an excellent platform from which to grow the comprehensive plant optimisation service that we already provide to our customers. Rolls-Royce is trusted to deliver excellence and we are proud to be a part of it."
