13 Enter Race for Seats on Moon Area School Board

Mark Scappe, president of the , will seek re-election in the May 17 municipal primary.

Six school board positions will be up for election: Five are for 4-year terms, and one is a two-year  term. The list of candidates is on file with the Allegheny County Division of Elections.

• Ron Steele of Harvest Court, Moon. Occupation: managing director. Party: undisclosed. Running for a two-year term in District 9.

• Jonathan DeVore of Oakhaven Drive, Moon. Occupation: IT analyst. Party: undisclosed. Running for four-year term in District 2.

• Gia R. Tatone of Skylark Drive, Moon. Occupation: teacher and author. Party: undisclosed. Running for a four-year term in District 5.

• Samuel Kay Tranter of Hart Drive, Crescent. Occupation: Crescent Township Public Works supervisor. Party: Republican. Running for a four-year term.

• Arthur Michael Olszewski of Beaver Grade Road, Moon. Occupation: hospital vice president. Party: Republican. Running for a four-year term.

• Danny L. Barefoot of Boggs Avenue, Moon. Occupation: corrections officer. Party: Democrat. Running for a two-year term.
