Toys R Us Recalls Remote-Controlled Helicopters

The recall is due to the risk of fire and burn hazards.

Consumers are being asked toΒ stop using a certainΒ remote-controlledΒ helicopter purchased from Toys 'R Us.Β Β 

Refunds and store creditsΒ are being offered for the Fast Lane FA-005 Radio Control 3-Channel Helicopter with Gyro Stabilizer and Charger, model number 5F5F2F5, because the rechargeable battery inside can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers or nearby items.

According to a notice, about 6,500 were soldΒ in the United StatesΒ and 900 in Canada fromΒ September 2012 through January 2013 for about $100.

Toys 'R Us, which has a store in Robinson Township,Β has received 11 reports worldwide of the battery overheating, with no injuries reported.

Consumers can callΒ Toys 'R Us at 1-800-869-7787 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays,Β or online atΒ www.toysrus.com.Β
