An exhibit recognizing the Tuskegee Airmen is set to be unveiled this week at the Pittsburgh International Airport.
Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, members of the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial of the Greater Pittsburgh Region, Inc. and federal, state and local officials are expected to attend the unveiling Thursday of the Recognition Exhibit.
The exhibit, the largest Tuskegee Airmen Recognition Exhibit in any United States airport, celebrates the Greater Pittsburgh Tuskegee Airmen legacy and the history of Western Pennsylvania’s first black military aviators.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the dedication of the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial will take place in the Sewickley Cemetery. A large contingent of Tuskegee Airmen were from Sewickley and the memorial is set to be the largest outdoor memorial for Tuskegee Airmen in the country.

Cemetery gates will be closed to vehicle traffic on Sunday and a shuttle bus service will be available for those interested in attending the dedication.
