• Owner of exotic pet store in Wilkes-Barre accused of torturing animals: Mountain Top man showed animals at libraries, festivals in Susquehanna Valley (newsitem.com) — A Mountain Top man who owns CDE Exotics in Wilkes-Barre has been charged with dozens of counts related to allegedly torturing and neglecting animals, including keeping them in filthy conditions and failing to provide food and water. Luzerne County SPCA officials say the case involves serious mistreatment, and the accused had previously brought exotic animals to fairs, festivals, and libraries across the region.
