Bottom Dollar Constructs Store in Lower Nazareth

As many as 35 new jobs are expected to be created when the Bottom Dollar Food supermarket opens this fall in .

The new store is now under construction at the corner of Jandy Boulevard and Easton Road (Route 248).

"On average, each store employs approximately 30 to 35 associates," said company spokesperson Tenisha Waldo. "We're always looking for talented people who are fun, energetic and have a passion for helping customers."     

The shell of the building is up and the concrete floors have been poured. Customers will eventually enter from Easton Road after the parking lot is completed. For now, the lot is a large hole in the ground as construction crews complete the water retention facilities that will be located underneath.     

Bottom Dollar plans to open the store "in the fall," but the exact date has not been set. You can apply for employment by visiting the company's website at www.bottomdollarfood.com.   

"We will host a grand opening ceremony where we will invite local public officials, community leaders and customers," Waldo said. "Also, our company will donate to various local organizations in recognition of our support of the community."     

The company usually offers promotions when new stores are opened. One promotion could be a free, Bottom Dollar Food reusable bag filled with private brand products if you're one of the store's first customers, according to Waldo.

The belief that the local market is underserved in the discount grocer arena led to the decision to locate the supermarket in Lower Nazareth. 

"We look for opportunities where Bottom Dollar Food can serve local communities by meeting consumers' needs, delivering unbelievable prices on fresh produce, private brands and the national brands that matter most to them," Waldo explained. 

Bottom Dollar opened a store earlier this year just outside of Easton -- at Butler and 25th streets -- and there are several other stores throughout the Lehigh Valley.

In total, the company has 49 stores in five states -- North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
