A Five Year Old's Outlook on Life
Only a mother knows what can be learned about life through a five year old's eyes.
My five-year-old daughter says to me quite often, "Why, mommy?" when I ask her to complete a project, like cleaning up her bedroom.
Today I tried my daughter's outlook on life by asking several people "Why?" when I was asked about something. I wanted to see how other adults would react.
I used it on my husband first when he asked what was for dinner. He looked puzzled as I knew he would, but just walked away without answering. Then I used it on my mother during a phone conversation when she asked how me things were going, but her answer was quite different. She actually got a little miffed at me and said a few choice words, but calmed down as I explained what I was trying to prove.

Lesson learned.
When you have a five year old hitting you with "Why?" all day long, you tend to ignore it. When you use it on a 60-year-old woman who has little to no contact with children on a daily basis, you get a bad attitude sprinkled with a curse word or two.

My next experiment: to use my daughter's words right back at her. I hope she is ready for the word "no" -- (LOL).
