The Sweetest Thing for Valentine’s Day: learning simple ways to go GMO-FREE


Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have many negative impacts on your health, our animals health and our environment. You can learn more about these various effects at a special Valentine’s Day Open House on Saturday, February15 with GMO Free PA and Brad’s Raw Foods.

Annmarie Cantrell will be speaking on how to substitute GMO Free alternatives for your everyday pantry ingredients. Tara Cook-Littleman, Esq. (leader of GMOFree, CT) will speak on how they passed Connecticut’s labeling bill into law. William Woys Weaver will speak on the problems trying to raise GMO Free heirloom fruit and vegetables.


There will also be an opportunity to taste some delicious GMO free food from Cucina Verde as Annmarie Cantrell demonstrates how to cook safely with GMO free alternatives from your pantry. Area farms offering CSAs and local businesses, which support a GMO free way of life, will provide their resources and plenty of additional information.
