Emrick Says Bill Would Help Schools Offer Driver Training
House Education Committee to vote on local lawmaker's bill.

Pennsylvania's House Education Committee will meet to vote on two pieces of legislation on Wednesday, Nov 16.
Rep. Joe Emrick, R-137th, has introduced House Bill 1823, which would give school districts the option of contracting with private driver training instructors to provide the classroom portion of driver education without obtaining Pennsylvania teacher certification.
The committee will also vote on House Bill 1980, which would establish a statewide comprehensive teacher evaluation system. Lancaster GOP lawmaker Ryan Aument introduced the bill as part of Gov. Tom Corbett's education reform package.
