Birding adventure: The scrub barrens of the Kittatinny Ridge is the only place locally where one can find both species of birds in the “goatsucker” family, the Common Nighthawk and Whip-poor-will. Join a hike to the breeding areas of these two birds and listen for their courtship performance. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring a flashlight and binoculars.
