Intoxicated Woman Pulled Knife on Husband, Police Say
Janice Klimek, 37, of Wind Gap, is charged with simple assault and harassment.

A Wind Gap man came home from work Feb. 12 and found his wife βpassed out on the couch from drinking,β court records say.
He woke her up and βconfrontedβ her about her drinking and a βsecretβ cell phone.Β The wife then went βcrazy,β the husband told police, and began punching and kicking him, the records say. She βreportedly pulled a knifeβ on him, and at this point he and their juvenile son went into a bedroom and locked the door βfor safety,β according to court records.
Police eventually arrivedβthis was around 4:15 p.m.βand the wife, Janice Klimek, 37, was arrested and later charged with simple assault and harassment.

While in police custody, she βdid utter that she did βbeat the [expletive] out of her husband in retaliation for years of abuse,β a criminal complaint says.
The complaint, filed by borough officer Arron Flad, says the officer first talked to Janice Klimek, who said her husband punched her in the face. She had a visible injury to her mouth, Flad said.

He also said Janice Klimek smelled of alcohol. The family home is on the 100 block of Constitution Avenue.
Her husband, Stephen Klimek, told the officer about finding his wife on the couch, how she punched and kicked him, and that he and their son went into a bedroom and locked the door.
He also said Janice then kicked in the door and resumed punching and kicking him. Stephen acknowledged that while trying to block his wifeβs attack, he caused an injury to her lip.
The complaint says Janice hit her husband in the forehead, βcausing a visible injury.β
Janice Klimek was arraigned Tuesday night by on-duty District Judge Robert Hawke of Lehigh Township and released on $8,000 unsecured bail.
Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
