Lower Nazareth Supervisors Approve Renaming of Selvaggio Drive

Pending approval from the U.S. Postal Service, the Lower Nazareth Board of Supervisors vote to rename Selvaggio Drive.

Selvaggio Drive in Lower Nazareth Township, come Oct. 1, will be no more.

The on July 11 voted to change Selvaggio Drive to Municipal Drive, pending approval from the U.S. Postal Service.

Back in January, -- a 35,000-square-foot property on 2.8 acres -- for $1.45 million.

The property, which had been owned by , was foreclosed on in July 2010.

According to a report in The Morning Call, a series of six lawsuits was filed in February to evict Stephen and Teresa Selvaggio, Selvaggio Enterprises Inc., Selvaggio Plumbing and Heating, Selvaggio Excavating Inc., Selvaggio and Sons Plumbing and Heating, and Newburg Plumbing Supply Inc.

The eviction suit went forward after a month had passed without a meeting with Stephen and Teresa Selvaggio, according to the report.

The soon-to-be 623 Municipal Drive will be the new home for the township municipal building. An architect and engineer have been working to create a facility -- estimated at about $2.2 million -- that would include municipal offices and, possibly, a public works office, a community center and a park.
