Musikfest Today: Five Things to Know

Fly like an eagle to the Sands Steel Stage to hear Steve Miller.

Today isΒ Monday, Aug. 8, 2011Β -- a good day to speak of the "pompatus" of love. It isΒ Day Four of Musikfest 2011.

  1. The National Weather ServiceΒ is saying this will be another warm, muggy day with a chance ofΒ scattered thunderstorms – mainly between 2 and 8pm. The high temperature is expected to reachΒ 89 degrees.
  2. If you’re taking theΒ kidsΒ down toΒ Banana Island, the Cool Crafts TentΒ themeΒ of the day isΒ bugs. A band named theΒ Fuzzy Lemonsplays the family-friendly stage between 4:30 and 6:30pm.
  3. If you want to see what some of the older kids are up to, move over toΒ Plaza TropicalΒ at 3:30pm to hear a showcase of some of the talented teens from the
  4. TheΒ free stage highlightsΒ include Nanticoke, PA polka legendsΒ John Stanky & The Coalminers at FestplatzΒ at noon and the comedic folk stylings ofΒ The Arrogant Worms at LiederplatzΒ at 9pm.
