Nazareth Shooting Victim Identified
Nazareth resident Timothy Nixon killed himself Monday night as authorities closed in to take him into custody on a felony warrant.

The Nazareth man who killed himself Monday night as authorities were approaching with an arrest warrant has been identified.
Police were serving a warrant to Timothy Nixon, whose address was listed as 212 S. Main St., according to a copy of the warrant obtained from the Nazareth Borough Police Department.
Online court records list Nixon's age as 32. The warrant says he was 6-feet-2 and 240 pounds.

Nixon was visiting his cousin in a second-floor apartment in a house on S. Main Street next to the American Hotel Monday night when authorities arrived with the arrest warrant, police said.
No shots were fired by police.

The felony warrant, signed by on-duty Northampton County District Judge Diane Marakovits of Northampton, called for Nazareth Police Office Daniel Troxell to take Nixon into custody on a burglary charge, as well as charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and terroristic threats.
The incident that was the subject of the warrant allegedly occurred Sunday (May 19), the online records say. The warrant was approved Monday.
